The Heart of Island Creations

Born from a passion for personal touch, Island Creations is more than just a shop—it's a celebration of local craftsmanship. Our mission is to transform everyday items into cherished memories through DTF transfers, custom vinyl and intricate embroidery. We believe that a personalized gift carries a weight that mass-produced items simply cannot match.

When you choose Island Creations, you are choosing quality, attention to detail, and a direct line to the designer. Unlike big-box retailers, we treat every order as a collaboration, ensuring your vision is perfectly translated onto every shirt, hat, or piece of home décor. We support our community by creating logos for fellow small businesses, keeping the local economy vibrant and unique.

Our Story

We’re Heather and Ryan Bowland, lifelong residents of Alamance County in central North Carolina. Heather grew up helping in her family’s jewelry store, learning what it means to serve customers with care. About ten years ago, she opened a tiny Etsy shop for fun, creating custom designs on the side.

In 2026, we both stepped away from successful careers to take a leap of faith and turn that side passion into Island Creations. In many ways, we’re continuing the work of the generations before us who taught Heather the value of hard work, creativity, and community.

When we’re not in the shop, you’ll usually find us making memories with our son, planning our next trip, or soaking up the magic at Disney (we’re proud Disney adults!). We also love spending time on the North Carolina coast and cheering on our Duke Blue Devils on fall Saturdays in Durham.
